Making Space in Your Life

I wrapped up last year by working with a business/life coach and I'm really feeling the results of that effort today.

To get this year going I did a big clean out. My spare room/work room/store room was getting down to only having one little narrow goat's track through it.

I was getting frustrated with trying to find things and to get things sorted. It had all built up and was getting me down.

So I decided that the old winged armchair that I'd bought at St Vinnies, with all the right intensions of recovering, could make way for a bookcase to store the jewellery display stand stock on (rather than on the spare bed that gets used every school holidays and the stock gets moved into my room - the joys of running a business from home!).

The idea of putting the chair in storage got me looking round the room for what else could go. It ended up being about 15 boxes of treasures that aren't needed right now.

Countless loads went out to the recycling bin - who knew I collected magazines for YEARS? (We won't ask any friends or family that question.)

The upshot is I have space in the space room - even with the Expo, Markets and Jewellery Party stock kits in there.

I keep going in there just to look. I've even done a highland jig in there (dance like no one can see you kind of thing).

I've also got rid of an old coffee table that was just too big for the lounge room that will go up on Gumtree. It's a big table that I was forever covering in beads, magazines (such a surprise), projects and anything else that landed and got buried. So gone. No more overwhelming coffee table.

I'll get another table but for the time being I'm going to learn to live without one. Everyone else seems to be fine with the table going - rather shocked at me making such a move after all these years so I'll take that of signs of good changes happening within me.

I'm making room for lots of good things to come into my life. No more squeezing things in. Now I have room for lots of good things to arrive.

I've changed my business model for this year towards more organised and inside events. The rain today is like a constant reminder that I'm doing the right thing.

I'm feeling ready for this year. I have plans and I feel more in control of choosing what becomes my actual from all the realms of possibilities.

I wasn't sure about the benefits of working with a business/life coach. It was, even during the process, an act of faith in myself and the universe. And I did the right thing.

I made a heap of wrong decisions last year - a lesson in accepting that mistakes are made so you make the best of what you've chosen - but I think I've actually made more good choices and decisions that I realised at the time.

So I'm going to keep going with my business/life coaching as there's more good things to come from it.

Just a thought to leave you with - you make your actual reality from your choices and that's a really good thing.
