Geraldine Brooks wins 2006 Pulitzer Prize for fiction!

Hey there,

I saw an interview with journalist Geraldine Brooks and thought her just wonderful. Today I learnt she won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for fiction for her novel “March”!

I love it when great things happen for good people. Sometimes you feel that the world is a little off kilter but the news today gives me faith and hope.

So get out there and read Geraldine Brooks’  “March”. It is the story of the father of “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott. Of course it is fiction but it was inspired by fact with the finding of an old Civil War belt buckle in her Virgina backyard. The belt buckle tickled Geraldine’s curiosity and sent her on a journey of research and discovery of what it was like to be of that time.
