It looks set for a big market weekend with The Rocks Chocolate Festival on Saturday and Sunday. I will be there but in a different location to my permanent spot in Playfair Street as I am shifting up to the canopy area in George Street.
Finding Creatively Belle at The Rocks Markets
It turns out success attracts attention and the vibrant bustling atmosphere us 150 artisan small business owners create every weekend caught the eyes of the marketing team over at Smooth FM and got them thinking of chocolate (a natural connection, especially if you’re ever had the chance to indulge in some of our locally made chocolate treats at market!).
So they decided to take over half the market for an annual Chocolate Festival. Now I love chocolate but I also really appreciate being able to pay my weekly house and studio rents so missing out on a weekend of trading straight after winter is frankly scary so I’m deeply thankful for The Rocks Markets management team for being able to include me this weekend. So I’m just moving up into the old section of the market in George Street under the canopy for this Saturday and Sunday only.
Next weekend will have the full compliment of local artisans back at The Rocks Markets (only about half of us can be fitted in this weekend) in George and Playfair Streets as well as Jack Munday Place.
Markets Bring a City to Life
Markets bring a city to life and getting to meet makers of local designed and crafted treasures is a great way to get a feel for the creativity of this beautiful city of ours, plus getting to indulge in loads of delicious chocolate makes it even more fun!
